fresh strawberry lime spritz

Spring into the weekend with a Fresh Strawberry Lime Spritz in hand. It’ll make the days even better than what you already hoped.

Keeping it quick today because my house smells like fish via trashcan and I have a sinkful of dishes that are making me twitch with their existence. I’m not one to enjoy tasks hanging over my head, but it’s 5:30 and I’m about ready to peace out of working for the day and hence needed to whip this drink in your hand before I make an unceremonious exist and probably smash into your screen door on my way out.

It’s gloomy and utterly windy today, like a true spring afternoon. The water in the bay splashed over the seawall and coated my glasses. My hair whipped about like a horse’s tail. I’m find with a strong breeze, it reminds me of what typically characterizes the season, though I know the air will still and the temps rise and soon summertime pummels my surroundings and I turn glum and sour.

Enjoying the moderate weather for now, though, and a few cocktails here and there again.

Straw-buried in Vodka

This drink is extremely simple. Start by muddling some fresh strawberries with lime juice and honey until the berries are nice and squooshed.

Then, add in vodka and St. Germaine (elderflower liqueur). Shake it all up and strain over ice in a glass. The hue is so pretty, a light rosy pink. I like to add some lime wedges, extra strawberries, and mint for a bit of a facelift after a splash of sparkling water to live up to the “spritz” namesake.

Gotta run, friends. This seafood smell is overpowering. Punching myself for leaving the trays in the trash overnight. Yuck.
