spiced apple cider rosemary margarita

A most autumnal sip! Homemade rosemary syrup and cider infuses the classic tequila-based treat.

Ingredients
  

  • 1/4 cup fresh rosemary sprigs
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 3 oz spiced apple cider
  • 1/2 oz lemon juice
  • 1/2 oz Cointreau (orange liqueur)
  • 1 1/2 oz tequila

Instructions
 

  • Gently boil the rosemary, sugar, and water in a small saucepan until the sugar dissolves, about 5 minutes. Remove from the heat and let steep 10 minutes. Strain through a fine mesh sieve into a small jar or bowl, pressing the rosemary sprigs to get as much of the sugar out as possible. Discard the leaves.
  • Fill a cocktail glass with ice. In a shaker, combine 1 oz rosemary syrup, spiced apple cider, lemon juice, Cointreau, and tequila. Add ice and shake, then pour into prepared glass. Garnish with apple slices, rosemary sprigs, and a cinnamon stick.
