frozen coffee hot chocolate

A most cool and delightful, chocolatey summer treat.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 1/2 cups milk of choice
  • 1/2 cup chilled brewed coffee
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup, or sweetener of choice
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 2 tbsp dark chocolate chips
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • whipped cream, chocolate sauce, and chopped chocolate, to top

Instructions
 

  • In the bowl of a blender, combine the milk, coffee, maple syrup/sweetener, cocoa powder, chocolate chips, vanilla extract, and 3 cups of ice. Whip until smooth. If you want a thicker consistency, add 1/2-1 cup more ice.
  • Divide into 2 large glasses or 4 smaller ones. Top with whipped cream, a drizzle of chocolate sauce, and chopped chocolate.

Notes

*Homemade chocolate shell: In a microwave-safe bowl, heat 1/2 cup dark chocolate with 1 teaspoon coconut oil for 1 minute. Stir until the bowl is no longer warm. If needed, heat an additional 15-20 seconds. Let cool 5 minutes, then throw that shit on your drink! Shell can be stored in the fridge for up to 2 weeks, covered.
