spicy strawberry paloma

A little kick in the face to celebrate the close of Dry January!

Ingredients
  

  • chili sugar, for the rim (see note)
  • 2 tbsp strawberry jam
  • 1/2 oz lime juice
  • 1-2 tbsp agave, or to taste
  • 1 1/2 oz tequila
  • 2 oz grapefruit juice
  • 1 jalapeno, sliced into rounds

Instructions
 

  • Run a lime wedge around a cocktail glass. Dip and swirl in the chili sugar, shaking off excess. Fill the glass with ice.
  • In a shaker, combine the jam, lime juice, agave, tequila, grapefruit juice, and jalapeno. Add ice and shake until cold - the more you shake, the spicier the drink will be! Pour into the prepared glass. Garnish with fresh strawberry slices and mint, as desired.

Notes

*Chili sugar: On a shallow plate, toss 3 tablespoons of sugar with 1 tsp chili powder.
