1cupapple cider
1/2cupmaple syrup
1/3cuppumpkin puree
1tspcinnamon
1/2tspginger
1/4tspground cloves
1/4tspallspice
Instructions
To make the syrup: in a small saucepot, combine the cider, maple syrup, pumpkin, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, and allspice. Bring to a boil and cook for 8-10 minutes until thickened and the spices and maple syrup dissolve. Let cool. This recipe makes enough syrup for about 6-8 drinks.
In a jar or cocktail shaker, combine the bourbon, syrup, orange juice, and bitters. Shake or stir to combine and pour into a cocktail glass. You can stop here and add ice, a cinnamon stick, and a star anise, or...
If you'd like flames, pour 1/2 oz 151 proof rum into the drink. Place the glass on a heatproof surface. Carefully use a kitchen torch or long-stem lighter to ignite the drink. If desired, sprinkle a touch of cinnamon powder to create sparks. Blow the flame out, add ice to chill, and drink!
